リベラルアーツ「賛成派」の英語プレゼンの一部です。

現在の日本では「リベラルアーツ」という言葉は聞いたことがあっても、本当に理解している人は少ないかもしれません。私もそのうちの１人でした。さきほどお話したように、リベラルアーツとは、元々はリーダーの育成を目的としたエリート養成機関でした。
現在のアメリカではリベラルアーツカレッジが多々存在していて、そこでは基礎的な教養を磨き、物の考え方を養い、学生自身が自らの進路を考える機会を提供しています。著名なリベラルアーツカレッジ出身者はヒラリー・クリントン、バラク・オバマ、同志社大学創始者の新島譲などが挙げられます。
日本でも戦前はエリート主義を唱え、リベラルアーツが取り入れられた時期もありましたが、みなさまもご存知の通り現在の日本ではエリート養成のための芸術や文学など幅広い教養というよりは、むしろ受験対策のための教養に特化している傾向が強くあります。
日本の文部科学省は今問題視されているニートやフリーター対策のためキャリア教育に取り組んでいます。キャリア教育とは職業体験やインターンシップ体験を得て生きる力を身につけ、雇用の多様化、流動化に対応できる人材の育成を目的とした教育システムであり、ニートやフリーターに多く見られる精神的・社会的自立の遅れを取り戻すことを目的としています。つまり、キャリア教育とはリベラルアーツと対極の立場にあります。
本来、学びとは特定のスキルを身につけることではなく、どのような場でも生きていける振る舞いを学ぶところではないでしょうか。１人の人間としての基礎が出来上がらないうちにキャリア教育をしても、職業体験の貴重な経験を生かす力を十分発揮することが出来ないのではないでしょうか。
現在の若者に不足しているものとしてよく挙げられる忍耐力、問題解決能力、課題発見能力、論理的思考力、コミュニケーション力を育むためには受験対策に特化した詰め込み授業ではなく、バランスの取れた人材育成プログラムが必要だと思います。

Even if word "Liberal arts" has been heard in present Japan, the person who understands really might be a little. I also did alone ..that... Liberal arts were the elite training originally organizations as having talked a little while ago to promote the leader.
The liberal arts college exists a lot in the present United States, and the chance that the student thinks about an own course by polishing a basic there education, and supporting the idea of the thing is being offered. In a word, it is in the standpoint of liberal arts and the counter electrode with the career education.
Originally, isn't learning does not acquire a specific skill, and a point where behavior to be able to live in any place is learnt?Even if the career is educated before the base as one man is completed, power to make the best use of a valuable experience of the career experience might be not able to be demonstrated enough.
