英語得意な方、これの和訳わかりますか？

取りあえず以下に簡単に訳します。
For a nation whose technological achievements are the envy of the rest of the world, it should not be hard to replace dirty old thermal power stations and dangerous unclear reactors with safe, clean, renewable sourcws of ener-gy.

他国が羨む技術革新を遂げた国にとっては、古汚い火力発電所や危険な原子炉をもっと安全で清潔な再生可能資源のエネルギーに代用するのは困難な事ではないはずだ。

However, so far there has been almost no progress in this direction.

しかしながら現在の所この動きに対する進捗は殆どありません。

Energy from wind is now cheaper than that pro-vided by burning oil or uranium; yet Japan gets less than 0.05% of its energy from this source, compared to Denmaek’s 10%.

もし日本国内全ての公共・個人ビルの屋上ならびに全民家の屋根に太陽光発電パネルを設置してそれらを地元の電力ネットワークに繋ぐことが出来たら原子力発電は不要になります。しかし昨年では15,000戸以下の民家やビルしかそのようなネットワークに繋がれて居ませんでした。

波や海底の海流及び潮流から作られるエネルギーを集める事で海から多大なるエネルギーを得る事が出来ます。しかし現在ではこの島国を取り巻く壮大なる海洋エネルギー源はコンピューターで有り電話であり、エアコンや警備システムになっている。しかし日本ではそれらの技術が追いついていない様だ。

以上ですが、大変申し訳ありませんが原文の英語の精度が随分低いです。結構英語の間違いが多いのでそれぞれ文章の流れからこう言う事を言いたいのだろう…と想像を盛り込みながら訳す必要がありました。

それでも残念ですが、最後の文章は私の想像を超越していましたので、すいませんが英文のまま訳しました。お読み頂ける通り意味不明だと思います。

恐らく、～this island nations are… とその後のcomputers, telephones…が上手く繋がっていません。もしかしたら何か文節が抜けている様に思えます。例えば（海洋エネルギー源は）利用されず、その代わりに企業はなんらかの技術革新にその投資を続け（コンピューター等）技術は進歩している。しかし… 等が考えられますが、これは開くまでも私の感です。

それから余計な事かも知れませんが、これら代替発電ですが太陽光、風力、地熱、海洋などそれぞれの発電設備の設備費並びに発電容量を明確にして現在の日本の電力使用量に対してどれだけの代替発電所が必要になり幾らの投資になるか。或いは一つの原子力・火力発電と同等の電力を発電する為にどれだけの投資が必要か、また消費者の光熱費への影響などの内容も盛り込めばもう少し日本への評価への信憑性、或いはどうして日本では難しいのか説明になるかとも思いました。現在京セラ・シャープ・三洋電機・三菱電機などが急ピッチで太陽電池並びにパネルの生産能力を増やしています。

確かに日本は代替エネルギーでは後進国ですが、世界標準ではそれでも頑張っている方だと思いますので、これほどの文章で日本がバッシングされるのもちょっとひどいかな…と感じました。
