前の回答者さんに間違いがあるので訂正させてもらいます。 ①の方が正確な文です。in the worldは場所を表す副詞句でno other countryを強く限定修飾しているのです。「世界の中には他の国は全くない」というように主語を強調的に表して「ロシアよりも広い」というように述部を後付けしています。もちろん②でも通じるとは思いますが一般的によく使われている文はあくまでも①です。 参考例文にも誤りがあります。 No other student in the class is taller than Tom.←こっちが普通 No other student is taller than Tom of all.←このような表記はありません。No other student in the class is as tall as Tom.か Tom is the tallest of all the students in the class.が正しい文です。
