たぶん遠心分離による高分子の分子量測定の話だと思います。 logarithm of fringe displacement で フリンジ(干渉縞)の変位(ズレ)の対数 でしょうね。 これが回転軸からの距離の平方根と直線関係にあるということでしょう。
